About Liana

Liana Graffanino was recently featured as the executioner and soprano in the chorus of Turandot in 2025 with Taconic Opera under the direction of acclaimed composer and tenor Dan Montez. Prior to joining Taconic Opera in Westchester, New York, Liana was a member of the opera chorus from 2020 to 2022 in Tosca and I Pagliacci and performed as a young artist in the Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice’s Hollywood in the Hills under the direction of Maria Todaro, now General Director of Florida Grand Opera.

From 2009–2016, she resided in Manhattan and was a frequent soloist as a member of the New York City Master Chorale, singing at St. Patrick’s Cathedral’s annual A City Singing at Christmas, broadcast internationally, and appearing in a special tenth-anniversary performance of Carmina Burana at Alice Tully Hall.

Previous roles include Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Giulietta in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, and Juno in Orpheus in the Underworld. With enCanta Collective, she appeared as Sophie in Lisa and Clorinda in La Cenerentola. Additional credits include Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail with New York Summer Opera Scenes and Solveig in the world premiere of The Sailor-Boy and the Falcon, featuring soprano Stephanie Blythe.

She holds a dual bachelor’s degree in music performance and education from the Crane School of Music, where she received the Olive Dillenbeck Goodrich Memorial Award for outstanding academic achievement and a Certificate of Honor in music performance. She earned her Master of Music from Manhattan School of Music, currently studies with Dan Montez, and serves as a music and choral director in the Arlington Central School District.
